Colby Parkinson is an American football tight end who currently plays for the Seattle Seahawks. He was born on December 20, 1996, in Anaheim, California. Parkinson attended San Clemente High School in San Clemente, California, where he played football and basketball. He was a standout player in both sports, earning All-CIF Southern Section honors in football and All-South Coast League honors in basketball.
College Career
After graduating from high school, Parkinson committed to play football at Stanford University. He played for the Stanford Cardinal from 2015 to 2019. During his time at Stanford, Parkinson was a productive pass-catcher, totaling 103 receptions for 1,288 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was also a key blocker in the running game.
Parkinson was named to the All-Pac-12 first team as a junior in 2018 and was a second-team All-American as a senior in 2019. He was also a finalist for the Mackey Award, which is given to the nation's top tight end.
NFL Career
Parkinson was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round (131st overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played in all 16 games as a rookie, starting two, and caught 16 passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns. In 2021, Parkinson started 10 games and caught 22 passes for 248 yards and one touchdown.
Parkinson is entering his third NFL season in 2022. He is expected to be a key contributor in the Seahawks' offense, especially with the departure of tight end Gerald Everett. Parkinson is a versatile player who can line up in a variety of positions and contribute both as a receiver and a blocker.
