Every Word Mikel Arteta Said on Odegaard Injury, Saka Fitness and Champions League Lessons
Mikel Arteta press conference after Arsenal's 2-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven
On Martin Odegaard's injury
“He felt something in the first half and he wasn’t comfortable to continue. We don’t know the extent of the injury but he wasn’t comfortable to continue and we had to take him off.”
On Bukayo Saka's fitness
“He’s fine. He had a little bit of a knock but he’s fine.”
On Arsenal's performance
“It’s a disappointing result. We didn’t play well enough. We weren’t aggressive enough. We didn't have enough quality in our play. We didn't create enough chances. We made too many mistakes and we were punished at the end. The first half was poor, we didn't control the game, we didn't dominate the game.”
On the Champions League
“We have to be more ruthless. We have to be more clinical. We have to be more creative. We have to be better in possession. We have to be better at defending set-pieces. We have to be better at everything. The Champions League is a different level. We’re going to play against some of the best teams in the world and we’re going to have to be at our best.”
On the Arsenal team as a whole
“We’ve been playing a lot of games. They're very disappointed because we know that we should have done better. We are not in a moment to feel sorry for ourselves. We have to react and we have to do it quickly. We have to learn from this game and move on.”
