Noirmoutier-Pornic: 65 Swimmers, Able-Bodied and Disabled, Cross Bourgneuf Bay
A great sporting and human adventure
On Sunday, August 28, 2023, 65 swimmers, able-bodied and disabled, took part in the twelfth edition of the Noirmoutier-Pornic crossing. This sporting and human adventure, organized by the Handi Cap Aventure association, was once again a great success.
The swimmers set off from the beach of Les Sableaux on the island of Noirmoutier and swam the 4.5 kilometers to the beach of La Noëveillard in Pornic. The crossing, which took place in very good conditions, was supervised by a team of lifeguards and divers.
An event that brings people together
The Noirmoutier-Pornic crossing is not only a sporting challenge but also an opportunity for people with and without disabilities to meet and share a common experience. This year, swimmers from all over France took part in the event, including several members of the French Paralympic swimming team.
The crossing is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with disabilities. Handi Cap Aventure, the organizer of the event, is an association that works to promote the integration of people with disabilities through sports and leisure activities.
A successful twelfth edition
The twelfth edition of the Noirmoutier-Pornic crossing was a great success, both in terms of participation and the atmosphere. The swimmers were enthusiastic and the public was numerous to encourage them. The event was also covered by several media outlets, including France 3 and Ouest-France.
The success of the Noirmoutier-Pornic crossing is due in large part to the commitment of the volunteers who work throughout the year to organize the event. Thanks to them, this sporting and human adventure can continue to take place year after year.
